Long time no blog

I am trying to get my life back in order. At the beginning of the summer my dear husband, David, lost his job and while he tried to find work I needed to pick up a second job. I suppose I have been spoiled only working one job for almost 10 years. And spoiled further that my job really takes care of it's employees and treats people with respect. I have never been so unhappy working for this new company (I know, I should find a new part time job, and believe me I have tried!). So not only did David lose his job, and that is hard, and I took on this new difficult job, but an accumulation of many things happened and I am now being treated for depression. I think I probably should have been treated a long time ago, but we won't worry about the past. I am trying to focus on the good and the things I can control. Also, by spending ME time doing what I love, namely crafting. You will start to see new projects here and about things I LOVE!!! I am very excited to keep my blog up. Blogging used to be one of my releases when I was in my teens and I hope to do that again. OH! David did get a new job with a HUGE pay cut and no bennies for 6 months.

So here are some things I have been up to:

I have fallen in LOVE with copic markers (did I tell you that already?). I started selling craft items and whatever was lying around the house to purchase a silhouette machine (which I still don't have) instead of buying craft supplies I was able to purchase a few copic markers and also pay bills (remember, David lost his job). I have been spending most of the quiet time over the summer reading craft books and magazines during quiet time during the new job. In July I found that the Art League in Northern VA was having a Precious Metal Clay class. Something I have ALWAYS wanted to learn how to do (I have read SO MANY books on PMC). My mama paid the tuition for the class and I learned how to use bronze, copper and silver clay. It was an amazing class, and don't worry, I will post photos!

Mama also paid for a copic marker class. She has also bought me a whole bunch of copic sketch markers (I own about 60 now... not too shabby). I go to my class this Friday and Saturday and I am very very excited.

In November I have a booth at the Paws & Whiskers Bazaar in Fredericksburg. I think that will be LOADS of fun (even if I don't sell anything).

Did I tell you I am in LOVE with Lawn Fawn, Some Odd Girl, There She Goes Stamps and Paper Issues. I have be slowly buying stamp and die sets when I can scrounge and save enough. I also buy twinery and washi tape occasionally. OH! And David, my dear sweet David, is selling his iPhone to buy me a Silhouette Cameo. I am so excited!!!!

Best BEST news of all? Finding Swap Bot! I used to be a member of Nervousness.org and would send LMAO and ATCs, postcards, journals and all sorts of lovelies all over the world. I am SO stinkin' excited to find this website!!! I just got finished with my first swap- a Pintersted Board of your favorite childhood TV shows (don't you just love Pinterest?) Here's the link to my board
